Why Cotton is the Best Material for Bed Sheets
Cotton is the fabric that you’ll see most often for bed sheets. In most stores, it could be the only fabric that you’ll see. Cotton sheets are the easiest to look after and are durable. You won’t need to break the bank to buy cotton bedding, and the material is soft to the touch!
While the fabric is what we recommend for bed sheets, not all cotton is equal. You’ll want to pay close attention to the thread-count and whether the sheets contain another fabric.
We’re going to tell you why pure cotton is the best material for bedding.
Why Cotton?
While cheap bedding that you can pick up on the high street might seem like a good idea, it’s money down the drain. Cotton bedding has a longer lifespan than synthetic materials like polyester and can last twice as long.
Cotton is a natural and breathable material. It helps to regulate your body temperature throughout the night and can absorb your body heat. You can think of cotton bed sheets as naturally ventilating your bed while you sleep, just like an electric fan would do for a room. Cotton is also a hypoallergenic fabric, meaning that it won’t cause your skin any irritation while you sleep.
We all know the feeling of slipping into bed and relaxing on a fresh set of luxury bedding. Cotton bed sheets are easier to sleep on and will generally improve your sleep quality.
